How to Play Connect Four:

Two people playing a giant Connect Four game outdoors near a vineyard, one holding blue game pieces, and the board showing red and blue discs.

Objective:
The goal of Connect Four is to be the first player to get four of their pieces in a row—horizontally, vertically, or diagonally—on the game board.

Instructions

Setup:

Players take turns dropping their colored pieces (either red or blue) into one of the seven vertical columns of the game board.

The pieces will fall to the lowest available space in each column.

Taking Turns:

Players alternate turns, with each player dropping one piece per turn. The piece will automatically fall to the lowest empty space in the selected column.

Be strategic and try to set up your pieces while blocking your opponent from creating their own line of four.

Winning the Game:

The first player to get four pieces in a row, either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, wins the game.

If all columns are filled and no player has achieved four in a row, the game is a tie.

Game Tips:

Watch your opponent’s moves carefully and anticipate where they might drop their next piece.

Look for opportunities to create multiple ways to win, so your opponent has to block more than one line.
